Skyfall is a composition of monumental quilted fabric planes. Geometric panels of bold yellow, purple, red, blue and teal come together to create a dynamic formation of hard-edged shapes. Concurring with the visual reliefs through to the visible sky, different colored panels within the composition of the piece block out light or let light seep through, mimicking the way the moon blocks the sun’s light during all stages of an eclipse. The work invites contemplation of our place within the vastness of the universe, encouraging viewers to pause and reflect on both the beauty and the fleeting nature of celestial events.
